'Sitaare Zameen Par' Sees Significant Jump on Day 2, Mints ₹32.20 Crore Net in India

 June 22, 2025Aamir Khan and Genelia D'Souza-starrer 'Sitaare Zameen Par' has witnessed a substantial surge in its box office collection on its second day, Saturday, June 21, 2025. After a modest opening, the film has nearly doubled its earnings, bringing its total India net collection to a promising ₹32.20 crore.


The film, which opened in theatres on Friday, June 20, had collected ₹10.7 crore (India net) on its first day. However, positive word-of-mouth seems to have kicked in over the weekend, leading to a significant growth of approximately ₹21.50 crore (across all languages) on Saturday.

Directed by RS Prasanna, 'Sitaare Zameen Par' is a spiritual sequel to Aamir Khan's much-loved 2007 film 'Taare Zameen Par'. The film has reportedly garnered positive reviews for its sensitive yet humorous take on individuals with different abilities, featuring a cast that includes Brijendra Kala, Dolly Ahluwalia, and 10 newcomers.

The strong performance on Saturday, marked by a jump of over 100% from its opening day, indicates that the film is finding its audience and is now poised for a strong first weekend total. Industry trackers note that Saturday's overall Hindi occupancy for the film stood at 36.16%, with night shows peaking at over 56%, showcasing growing traction.

This box office performance marks a significant moment for Aamir Khan, with 'Sitaare Zameen Par' already surpassing the two-day collections of his previous film, 'Laal Singh Chaddha', and positioning itself for a successful run.
