NEET (UG) 2025 Results Declared: Over 12.36 Lakh Candidates Qualify, Mahesh Kumar Secures AIR 1

June 14, 2025, India – The National Testing Agency (NTA) today announced the highly anticipated results for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) – NEET (UG) 2025. A staggering 12,36,531 candidates have successfully qualified for the country's premier medical entrance examination, marking a significant milestone for aspiring doctors and healthcare professionals across India.

The results, released as per the official schedule, have opened doors for these qualified candidates to pursue MBBS, BDS, and other undergraduate medical courses in institutions nationwide. Students can now access their scorecards, All India Ranks (AIRs), and subject-wise marks on the official NTA NEET website, neet.nta.nic.in. The final answer key for the examination was also released earlier today, forming the basis for the declared results.

Toppers and Top-Performing States:

Rajasthan's Mahesh Kumar has emerged as the All India Rank (AIR) 1 holder in NEET UG 2025, achieving an impressive 99.9999547 percentile. Following closely are Utkarsh Awadhiya from Madhya Pradesh (AIR 2) and Krishang Joshi from Maharashtra (AIR 3). Delhi's Avika Aggarwal has secured the top female rank, bagging AIR 5.

In terms of qualifying candidates, Uttar Pradesh leads the charts with 1,70,684 qualifiers, followed by Maharashtra with 1,25,727 and Rajasthan with 1,19,865.

Qualifying Cut-offs See a Dip:

The NTA has also released the category-wise cut-off marks for NEET UG 2025. This year, there has been a noticeable dip in the qualifying cut-offs across most categories compared to the previous year. For the General/EWS category, the qualifying marks range from 686-144, while for OBC, SC, and ST categories, it stands at 143-113. This drop is likely attributable to a combination of factors, including the perceived difficulty level of the paper and the overall performance of the candidates.

Next Steps: Counselling Process Begins Soon

Qualifying NEET UG 2025 is the first crucial step towards securing admission. These 12.36 lakh eligible candidates will now proceed to the counselling process. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct the All India Quota (AIQ) counselling for 15% of the government MBBS and BDS seats, while individual state authorities will manage counselling for the remaining 85% of state quota seats.

Students are advised to keep a close watch on the official websites of MCC and their respective state counselling authorities for detailed schedules, seat matrix, and further instructions on the admission process. Necessary documents, including the NEET scorecard, identity proof, and Class 10-12 certificates, should be kept ready for verification during the counselling rounds.

The release of NEET UG 2025 results marks a pivotal moment for thousands of aspiring medical professionals, setting the stage for the next phase of their journey into the demanding yet rewarding field of medicine.
